Gillette Venus.

The brief.

With Gillette having recently released a range of razors, the opportunity was presented to design a new free standing display unit (FSDU). The requirements were to promote each razor on its own shelf individually but to also show the range as a whole from an initial glance. Along with the brief, the client provided its brand guidelines as well as packaged design files that make up each product. Bar the template of the FSDU itself, the creative freedom was there to push the new visual to its most effective state.

The outcome.

Fortunately a brand like Gillette have quality assets to be creative with and this project was again no different. Having the packaging design files meant elements could be taken and brought across - creating consistency but also defined sections throughout. The sides led to taking a slightly different design stance and meant asking the client for further assets to enforce the branding. Along with the selling points of each razor, I could then combine this with a brand campaign, to therefore create a much stronger visual. Finally, conversing with the assigned print company gave me the freedom to push the template knowing custom cut outs were an option. This meant I could push assets outside of the original cutter guide and therefore create something which would work as hard as it can given the space.
